PROLOGUE

Jeremy Ellison laid back in the bed staring up at the ceiling listening to the gossip show coming from the other room. Right now, he hated his life. He knew it was temporary, but he couldn’t wait for a change to come. A change he was going to make.
He was formulating his plan. He’d spent considerable time and money keeping track of everybody while staying hidden. He knew Anthony Maldono as well as he knew himself and he knew what Anthony would do next. It was almost time to put his plan in motion. He wasn’t done ruining Anthony’s life. It was time to step it up.
After nine long months of watching the authorities run around trying to find him and Anthony being made a free man, it was time to start moving. It made his blood pump that he was finally going to be able to do something. He looked into the other room where the woman he had to depend on was shoving fist after fist of popcorn in her mouth. He wanted to get up and stick a knife in her gut. He hated her. He wanted her dead. But he had to wait since he had a plan. A plan that would increase the stakes in the game he was planning.

CHAPTER ONE

Evie Taylor sighed and sat down hard in the chair. She tossed the dusting rag on the table, tilted her head back and closed her eyes. She was bored and longed to get back to Boston to run her bookstore and café. The past nine months she’d spent two extended stays back home. Once for Lexi and now for her grandmother. She’d heard from Jesse and everything was running fine but she missed the weekly shipments coming in and setting up new displays. Not to mention getting to sample new desserts from the café. She loved helping someone who loved to read find a new author. In fact, she’d set up a whole section of the book store for indie authors. It was opening up a whole new world to regular customers.
She looked around her grandmother’s living room. Knickknacks as far as the eye could see. She hated dusting. But that was a testament to how bored she was. She’d come home to Ipswich, Massachusetts when her best friend, Lexi Hanson, had been attacked. She remembered the fear that coursed through her veins when she got the phone call. The drive had been a blur. In the weeks that followed, she hadn’t been able to leave her. It brought back all of the memories of Lexi’s first attack. But her friend completely amazed her. She was so strong and she’d come so far.
Evie sighed, remembering Lexi and Noah’s perfect wedding on the beach just a few weeks ago. Now she was back again, taking care of her grandmother who’d broken her arm partying with one of the male guests in a hotel room. She shivered thinking about what they’d been doing that could have gotten her grandmother’s arm broken, knew at the very least that it hadn’t been pretty since her grandmother had been naked when the paramedics arrived.
“Evie honey, do you want something for lunch?” Evelyne Stone called from the kitchen.
Evie sighed and hefted herself up out of the chair and walked into the kitchen to put her hands on her hips. “Grandma, why am I here if you insist on doing everything yourself?”
Evelyne tsked. “Now honey, you know I need you, but there are some things I can do myself. Besides I need to get my wing back in working order, sooner rather than later with the girl’s cruise coming up in a month. There are going to be men that need taming.” She tried to wave her arm around, almost knocking over the pitcher of iced tea on the counter.
Evie rushed over and caught it, giving her grandmother a look. “Can you please take it down a notch? You aren’t fifty anymore.”
“Pah! Come on honey, lighten up. I know you’ve got it in you. Maybe you should go with us. I know there will be some young hot guys there.”
“And how do you know this?”
“Because we signed up for a party cruise. Average age is twenty-four. I know that’s a bit young for you, but hey, you can still have fun. I know you can.”
Evie closed her eyes and mentally prepared herself for the call from the cruise company to come pick up the Troublesome Trio from somewhere. Although now that Lexi was married to Noah, he might have better connections and be able to get them home quicker than commercial flights. Something to bring up to them when they got back from their honeymoon.
A knock sounded at the door. “Hold that thought.” Evie went to answer the door, absently trying to push back the hair that had escaped her ponytail. They’d rented out the cottage on the back of her grandmother’s property and the tenant was due to show up today.
She could see the shadow of a tall built man through the frosted glass. Evie had hoped the renter would be a family to distract her grandmother so she might get some rest and not chase around after some man.

Evie opened the door and looked up—right into the face that haunted her best friend’s nightmares.

Eye of the Storm

M. Stratton is an International Amazon bestselling author in the romantic suspense and mystery suspense categories for her debut novel After the Storm. She is a self-proclaimed dork that loves to make people laugh and can trip over nothing. Her inner rock star is always on stage performing to a sold out crowd but is quiet and shy on the outside. She lives with her husband and son in Arizona, which is a big difference from where she grew up north of Chicago Illinois. As an only child she learned to tell herself stories to make the long winters go by quicker while dreaming of summer vacations. Now as an adult she still makes up stories to pass the time, but now she writes them down to share with other people. When not writing you can find M. watching football (Go Bears!), NASCAR, or classic movies, watching her husband and father restore classic cars, and seeing who can be sillier, her or her son, and of course reading.

Things you don't know about M. Stratton:
1. She loves the movie Twisterナ she can say all the lines along with the actors. She will also use those lines in real life as often as possible.
2. Halloween is her favorite holiday. She starts planning months in advance. She has more Halloween decorations than Christmas.
3. She once made up a monologue about her love of chocolate chip cookie dough for her high school drama class.
4. There are times she thinks she is so funny she has tears running down her face while laughing at herself.
5. M. can play the clarinet but is in awe of anyone who can play the guitar, piano or drums, pretty much anything where your hands have to do two different things at the same time.
6. Cary Grant is her favorite actor. When she was in high school after Cary Grant died one of the cable stations ran a marathon, she watched his movies from 6 in the morning all day and night until 4 AM the next day.
7. Reading has always been an escape for her. She can devour a book in hours. When she moved in with her husband she literally donated over 1,000 books and saved over 1,000 for herself. She can reread books over and over again if she loves them. There are some that she has reread about once a year for the past 20 years.
8. She eloped after knowing her husband for only two months in 2006. They are still married over seven years later.

Yin's Lovely Review for Two to Tango by Mimi Strong

Skye Evans is a former stripper, trying to live a "good" life teaching dance to kids. She also hates rich people. Really hates them.

Charlie Ward is rich. He's twenty-nine, and caught between partying and growing up enough to have a relationship with someone besides his best friend.

When Charlie finds Skye crashing a party at the exclusive country club he owns, he's captivated by her long, beautiful dancer's legs. He takes her on a private tour of the pool, where they discover perfect chemistry.

Unfortunately for these two lonely lovers, Skye still hates rich people, and Charlie's still rich.

Charlie and Skye fit together so well when they're naked, but they must find creative ways to get over their differences and let themselves love.

Two to Tango is a sexy romp with lots of quick witted humor that will get you emotionally invested in the characters right from the start. Mimi Strong hit the nail on the head with this one! This is one of those books that snuck up on me… I knew it was good from the first pages, but before I realized it I had finished the book and was upset I couldn’t have any more Charlie and Skye.

Skye is a dancer and works with children at a local community center teaching them dance. It’s her dream job. She’s also an ex-stripper, a smidge OCD, and has a bit of a problem with snark. Life hasn’t been kind to Skye and while she is trying to make lemonade out of the lemons she has been handed, it’s turning out bitter and lacking the sweetness it needs. Could the handsome landscaper, Charlie, sweeten it up? Or will he just serve up more lemons?

Charlie Ward is handsome, loyal, and wealthy; the total package. Even though he made several blunders throughout the story, he was probably my favorite character. He may be rich but, he isn’t an entitled snob which we see way too often in books these days. He can be a bit bossy, but that only seems to be in Skye’s case and it’s pretty limited to when they are naked, so it’s pretty fucking hot. Charlie is a fixer… if there is a problem he will come up with a solution and do what he can to fix it. I have to admit, that is probably one of the reasons I connected so well with him. I mean what sane person doesn’t want to have a friend, lover, brother, sister, or SOMEONE who can help them with their problems? To have a person in their lives that is there with the sole purpose of making things better, that right there is worth more than a thousand one night stands, acquaintances, or fake BFFs. Charlie is just that kind of guy – the good guy.

When Skye and Charlie get together it is sinfully hot. I would almost say that the scenes in this book are the hottest to date from Mimi, but I’m hard pressed to because I love so many of her books. I have a new appreciation for antiques and swimming pools… oh and mustard.  If you are looking for a sexy read that won’t leave you hanging this one is for you!  Get humor, drama, smut, and a HEA all rolled up in one sexy package. Five stars for Two to Tango.

Hello! I'm bestselling author Mimi Strong, and I write funny, sexy books. You could call my stories chick-lit, erotic romance, sex comedy, new adult, or contemporary romance. Most of my characters have a wicked sense of humor.

I've always had a lot of sides. Sometimes I'm vulnerable, and sometimes I go after what I want without a single doubt.

I love making everyone around me laugh.

When I get a message from a reader like you, who says she hit her head on the headboard from laughing too hard and woke up her husband, I think that's pretty awesome.

I've always enjoyed empowering stories about kick-butt women who don't hold back and the awesome men who are smart enough to love them.

I live on the west coast with Mr. Strong and our two kitties. I drink coffee, wear pants, and breathe oxygen.

Yang's Wicked Review of Men of Steel by MJ Fields

Sexy tattooed and pierced bad boy, Jase Steel lives on the Jersey shore. Jase his mother, and brothers, Cyrus, Zandor, and Xavier own a tattoo shop. Jase sees Carly his best friends cousin from California who is there to visit her father before going back to Californa for her Sophmore year in college. Jase is immediately drawn to her quirky, funny,Nerdy, and seemingly shy ways. She is equally as attracted to him. Jase and Carly are from two different world, when these two worlds collide will it be a heavenly explosion or just another summer fling.

Carly is home from college to visit her dad when she meets Jase.  Carly is young and really doesn’t know the way of the world and when she meets Jase, he has a girlfriend and is flirty with her.  I didn’t like that to begin with.  I’m not into cheaters and I felt like this was where it was going to go. Grant it, Jase and Pam are on and off again but I felt that wasn’t right.  At this point where they are on again, he pretends to have a fake date with Carly.

WTF???  Really.

I really didn’t get the point of  that.  He breaks up with Pam and wants a real date now.  Lord, if this is the start of this, what in the world is going to come next.

Jase is supposed to be all alpha like.  Uhm, no.  He is not.  Yes, he is sweet and sexy but I wanted some grrrr moments out of him and it wasn’t there for me.  Carly was just childish for me.  Yes, she is supposed to be nerdy and doesn’t know “how hot she is” type of girl but was just kind of wishy washy for me.

I just didn’t see the point of this story.  I thought it had potential but with all the things that were in it, it just felt rushed and just sometimes didn’t make sense.  I  do not know what to do with this one.  I am kinda of.. sort of.. disappointed.

Yang's Lovely Review of Safe in His Arms

For as long as she could remember, Becca dreamed of a dominant man to take her in hand, and Zac, the handsome Marine she met at her sister's wedding, filled the role with aplomb… for a weekend. Then the fling came to an end, Zac went off to war and died for his country, and Becca learned she carried a child who would be born without a father.

Seven years later, Becca has done her best to move on and forget about Zac… until the day she walks into her kitchen to find the man she believed she would never see again locked in mortal combat with her son’s nanny, and realizes everything she thought she knew about Zac was a lie.

Like all Black Ops agents, Zac doesn't exist in any government record. His life is a series of deadly missions, and relationships of any kind are unsanctioned. But he keeps one secret. He watches over Becca, the beautiful daughter of a rogue agent, and Parker, the six-year-old boy he fathered that fateful weekend. When he spots a known assassin in their apartment posing as a nanny, he's forced to reveal himself and take them to safety… whether Becca likes it or not.

While Becca may have enjoyed his dominance once, bending her to his will again may not be quite so easy. He is determined to keep her safe, however, and if a long, hard spanking is required, he is more than willing to oblige. Having Becca over his knee rekindles more than his passion, though; even when the immediate danger has passed, he finds it much more difficult to “ghost out” on his family again. Must he resign himself to protecting those he loves from afar, or can he find a way to be the man Becca needs and longs for, the man who is worthy of her
submission and her love?

Publisher’s Note: Safe in His Arms is an erotic romance novel that includes both consensual and non-consensual spankings, anal play, graphic sexual scenes, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

What would you do if you find out that your child’s dad did not die?
That he has been alive and watching over you for the past 6 years and you had no idea.
How would you react?
Exactly, I would be super upset yet elated that he was alive.  This is how Becca felt.

One weekend of passion turns into a pregnancy for her and when she tries to let Zac know that she is pregnant, she finds out that he is dead.  She lives her life for Parker always taking care of him and just being the loving mother she can.  Out of the blue Zac appears to defend Parker and Becca from the Nanny of all people.  What she doesn’t understand is that Zac is basically a Ghost.  He doesn’t exist and was on a mission when he meets her.  What she doesn’t know is that the mission was about her dad.  Her dad had disappeared 15 years prior to that.  Zac and her dad are apart of the group that doesn’t exist on paper and military secrets were spilled.  This is what causes her to be upset.  She feels used and I honestly didn’t blame her but she is also happy because now that Zac is alive, Parker can have his dad.
Zac is a dominant man that has secrets and feels like he needs no one.  When he meets Becca he didn’t realize what was missing but he cannot change his past to fit his future so even though he loves Becca to keep her and Parker safe he has to not exist and that is what I love most about him.  He is selfless and that is such an enduring quality and you cannot help but love him.  He is so sorry for not being there and really expresses it in a way that would be considered less macho but for me, the more the merrier.  It really shows what type of person he is.  Becca for me is unknowingly a submissive.  Zac really brings that out in her and man it was really sexy to read.  They are beautiful together and between you and me, I was completely jealous.  Parker is the topping on the cake for me.  He is such a sweet boy and to love unconditionally is such a beautiful thing to read and both Becca and Zac love this kid to no end and they will all do what they can to keep him safe.  That is called being a parent and I loved how it was represented in this story.   This story to me at the end of the day was about forgiveness.  If you are truly sorry and trying to change then give that person a chance.  It is a risk and even though it is ok to be hesitant, taking that chance may make your life better.
I enjoyed this story and so will you.
